Dining

In addition to the incredible snow opportunities that Gudauri can offer, the other big drawcard of the resort is the phenomenal dining on offer for guests. Georgian cuisine is quite appropriately an expression of the culture of the country – warm, comforting and incredibly flavourful. Comfort food like khachapuri (cheese-stuffed bread) and khinkali(Georgian dumplings) finds balance with matsoni (yogurt) and herbs like tarragon, flat parsley, dill and coriander combine with walnuts and garlic for rich fillings and sauces. All this coupled with the fact that Georgian wine is exceptionally good! Georgia is one of the oldest wine regions in the world and the Georgians are incredibly knowledgeable on their grape varieties to ensure that you will be pairing superb wine with your food choices!

In Gudauri there are several on-mountain restaurants and bars open throughout the day, mainly at the top of the first chairlift. They lean towards Georgian dishes and offer a superb chance to sample local cuisine, they will certainly appease your hunger after a hard day on the slopes. There are also a couple of eateries with hot-dogs, khinkali(Georgian dumplings), beer, tea, coffee and other snacks at the bottom of gondola lift.

Here are a few of our favourite restaurant offerings in Gudauri:

Powder Bar Gudauri

Powder Bar Gudauri

Fantastic and tasty food, more if you want more traditional style western food as opposed to Georgian cuisine. Also has great music and friendly staff. Also great place for an after ski beverage.
